Hello-Hello, fellow readers! Today is a perfect day for a book tag, a K-Pop inspired tag. I was tagged a while back by the amazing creator of this tag, Savannah, from @TheBookProphet. Thank you! If you are curious to check out her answers and blog, you can just click the link I put above.
As many of you know, K-Pop has entered the western culture and it becomes more popular each day. This book tag combines two amazing things Korean culture and books. Some of you might be newbies or you never heard of K-Pop. Now, there is a chances to experience something new. I, myself, am a Korean drama lover. If you are interested, here is the link to my Korean Drama Top Favorites post.
Without further ado, let us start this tag!

BTS – A Book Everyone Knows About
For this category, I have more than one book. The obvious choice is the Harry Potter book series followed by The Game of Thrones, The Throne of Glass, A Court of Thrones and Roses, Lord of the Rings, and Cassie Clare’s books from the Shadowhunters universe. Oh! And Rick Riordan’s books too. How could I forget? Believe me, there is no place on the virtual and real world without these books. It is quite scary. Sometimes, I feel the pressure of reading them because everyone is talking about them. But as my official choice, I pick the Harry Potter book series by J. K Rowling.
EXO – Favorite Companion Novel
Hmm! Let me think about that. Can I choose a companion series? Of course, I can. The Falling Kingdoms companion series Spirits and Thieves, by Morgan Rhodes. The action takes in present Toronto, Canada, and Mytica, 1000 years prior to The Falling Kingdoms events. Some people prefer the original series over the prequel series. Honestly, I love them both. As readers, we get to learn what actually happened Mytica’s history. And, as for spoilers, there are a few although I do not think they are major ones.
NU’EST – A Book/Series/Author That Doesn’t Get the Attention You Think It Deserves
The Historians book series by Trisha Leigh. Both the book series and the author deserve more attention than they actually get. This book series has time travel, historical fiction, a love story, and futuristic space. What is not to like? Give these books and author some love, readers.
ASTRO – A BOOK that Gave You a Happy Feeling When Reading
Define happy because there are multiple types of happy. Happy as in “ha-ha”? Or happy as in feeling fluffy and cuddly with butterflies-in-your-stomach happy? Or happy as in positive vibes happy? Well, for that, I think I can put more than one book since it is unclear. (Shh! I am no cheating. Shut up! ^^)
- Fluffy-and-cuddly happy: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
- Funny happy: a recent read, The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan
- Positive-vibes happy: Very Good Lives by J.K. Rowling
MONSTA X – A Book Containing a Diverse Cast of Characters
The universe created by Rick Riordan: Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus, The Trials of Apollo, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, the Kane Chronicles. Yeah, it is hard to choose only one book for this category.
A.C.E. – A Favorite Recent Release
BLACKPINK – A Book that Sticks Out from the Rest of Its Genre
While reading An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, I was highly impressed by it. Among the books I read so far, Sabaa’s book is an outlier. The story and the way it was written stayed with me for a very long time. An Ember in the Ashes stands out in the book world just like K-Pop stick out from the regular pop music.
SEVENTEEN – A Book with Multiple POVs
I feel like I am repeating myself here. Wait, I actually am repeating myself. Eh, well! I choose, The Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes.
BIGBANG – A Modern Classic
Hmm! I do not know… Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling? It is the first series that comes to my mind right now. I believe Harry Potter is the equivalent of PSY, the K-Pop singer, in the western culture. At least, it seams like it from my point of view.
SISTAR – A Series You Wish Never Ended
The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, obviously.
RAIN – Favorite Stand-Alone
My pick is Nine Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean. This one is a colorful book just like K-Pop, only of a different kind. If you know what I mean. Wink-wink. Nudge-nudge. It is one of my favorite adult historical romance books I read so far.
Feel free to tag yourself if you want to do this book tag!
This is it my fellow readers, The K-Pop Book Tag. I want to hear from you in the comment section if you decided to do it. I know that for some of us on this earth winter holidays are coming thus I included the books’ Amazon links instead of the Goodreads ones. You know, in case of present ideas.
