So… I am Back!A lot had happened and a lot had changed even the seasons. Fall is here and winter is about to come. New books are being published nearly every day like the falling red autumn leaves. TV shows come and go wounding our hearts – and by hearts I mean brains – with sorrow, joy, and awe. Amazing music popping up everywhere. People meet and people part via internet or real life. We connect, reconnect, and sometimes disconnect with the humans around us in need for all different forms of love. The most basic and common type is… Friendship. Present, old, new or forgotten we all seek one for the good words and feelings it provides just like a book.I CAN FINALLY READ BOOKS AGAIN!!!Watch TV ShowsAnd MoviesMake future plansWrite the blog posts I planned forWrite my storiesTake photographsLearn new languagesOffer and spread love all around meEspecially my Love for BooksAnd most importantly, take care of myselfBe the hero of my life and move forwardYou know, the usual. ^_^Anyway, I missed blogging and all the things it brought into my life. It feels so good to be back on my “private” piece of the world wide web. In the future, I might have some news regarding my blog but until then… Shhh! You did not read anything.Summer is almost gone in the Northern hemisphere and the nature took its time to remind us how much we depend on things. Humans. Earth. Nature. Sun. And Universe. After a beautiful solar eclipse, we had chaotic floods. Thus, I am sending to all the affected people my warm and positive thoughts. When things get harder, you fight because there is only one path to follow, forward.And for those of you who got the chance to get cozy with books lately, let me know what adventures you’ve been through. Music, movies, and TV shows included or life events even ;).I. AM. BACK.

Hello-Hello! I am here with another post. Recently I joined another books related group on Goodreads called Monthly Recommendations (<–link). You might know the creators, Trina (Between Chapters) and Kayla Rayne. Do not be a troll and check these awesome beings’ channels. – (No offense, trolls but you are pretty grumpy imaginary creatures.)The month of May is dedicated to Contemporary Books.According to May’s discussion board, “Contemporary fiction is generally considered to be a real world setting with no fantasy or paranormal elements that takes place after World War II. It includes a variety of cross/sub-genres, such as: Romance, Coming of Age, Mystery, Horror, Humor, Literary fiction.”Since I prefer my books with a splash of imaginary… stuff, contemporary books are very few in my read pile… Thus, the books of my choosing are more romance oriented and cross the line into the New Adult category. I am not counting the ones from my TBR (to be read) list since I cannot offer an opinion cause I did not read them… DUH!The books are in no particular order.Let’s get this recommendation started!This is one of my recent reads. It is an easy and quick read. A lot of themes are explored throughout this book. “Don’t be quick to judge” and “things are not always what they appear” are just a few of them. Brigid Kemmerer does a great job reflecting real world problems in her book. I also like the mystery-romance aspect. Boy and girl know of each other’s existence but they are not acquainted at all. They judge one another based on rumors and gossip. Then, they end up later corresponding anonymously to talk about their life and problems. From my point of view, this story is a bit too focused on the main characters; although, that hasn’t stop me from enjoying a good book like this (Review HERE).Alright, this is a kind of a classic cliché and I so love it. This a contemporary love story which it happens to take place in Paris, France. L’amour! I couldn’t help it. I had to say the phrase. Tired of having all – mostly all – your books taking place in the U.S.A or U.K.? Then this book is your answer to that. But don’t get overly excited, there still is an American/English aspect in this book. The setting is beautiful. The story had the right amounts of romance, reality, cuteness, sweetness, and culture, and characters… I read this book twice and that says something since I rarely read books a second time. Anyway… Try the book if you are in a mood for cute and fluffy. (*Not really a standalone.)A book published by Swoon Reads*** (<– link). Teenage girl with good reputation (high grades and focused on her grades but with a “cold” demeanor) meets the hot surfer womanizer boy. It is set in high school. The two try to figure out who they are despite… high school society? It is a nice contemporary with an important message addressed people. There is a lot of steam potential… but is not explored at all; though, the romance is cute. And despite the title, personally, I did not see the “walk of shame”. Nothing was shameful.Now, we are leaving the YA territory and move towards New Adult / Adult zone. This is another romance that takes place in another place other then USA or U.K. It’s happening in Rome, baby! Cute. Full of steam. Love. Romance. Culture. A Prince in disguise. It is a retelling of the film Roman Holyday with Audrey Hepburn in the main role. You can check my review, HERE, if you need more convincing. (*Not really a standalone.)Well, well, well. The maturity scale in this one gets a little higher (and I am not talking about the sexy time). This is a complex and complicated story. It is about life, love, and redemption. There is a strong connection with Dante’s Inferno or shout I say Dante’s personal life viewed from his work, The Divine Comedy. It takes place in Toronto, Canada. Yes, it started as fan-fiction but there is so much more to the story. This is a story well written able to touch your soul and feels – oops, feelings.(Not a standalone.)Another new adult book. If you are a Colleen Hoover fan, you already know of this book. Again, the maturity level is pretty high – and here I am talking about sex. This is my favorite Colleen’s book so far. (I’ve only read two and the other one is Confess which you can find my review on it HERE.) Life. Love. Redemption. Tragedy. And the most important, how we cope with tragedy and find a way to relive and bloom again.I hope you enjoyed this post and found some new books to add to your on growing TBR pile. And, if you want more contemporary recommendations, check out the group’s May discussion board HERE.See ya in the next post!P.S. Confess was turned into a short TV show. For more details on that click the link HERE.*The book can be read by itself – ish – but it ties in with other books. A series of standalones…?

Hello-Hello! Recently I got my hands on some awesome books. Some of them were free – somebody was literary throwing them to the garbage – and some of them I got for a cheap price in second-hand stores. I know that in some parts of the world, to buy from second-hand stores is seen with judgmental eyes in the eyes of society… like an embarrassment because you cannot afford to buy unused things, brand new. It is more about moral pride than the quality of the things and some people are even ashamed to admit that they entered and bought something from a second-hand store. I am speaking from my experience and I am not pointing fingers because it is impossible for me to know everything in this universe. 🙂American view changed that opinion I had through books mostly. I found brand new books in second-hand stores. Barely opened or scratched books like the ones you are going to see below. It is crazy how many valuable things people are donating for other people to buy for a couple dollars.Like that saying: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.I mean… It is a saying for a reason, right?Don’t be afraid about germs. Usually the stores disinfect them. Or in extreme cases you can disinfect them yourselves. Plus, a sterile life is impossible – except for fetuses in their mother’s wombs and even there I might be wrong. Your are covered in germs yourself. Without your microbiota you will not be able to survive on this Earth. If you cannot believe me, you can listen to this guy from PBS who has a Ph.D. (doctorate) –> It’s Okay To Be Smart – You Are Mainly Microbe… Meet Your Microbiome!You can see how much of a geek I am when I am turning a Book Haul into an educational post. Nevertheless, this shouldn’t stop you to “stay curious” like Dr. Joe Hanson says.Now it’s time for the BOOKS!!!!Books I got for free:Anne of Avonlea — which I donated to a Free Library program in my townBooks I got from a second-hand store:If you are interested in reading any of these books, I included the link for their respective Goodreads page. You just have to click on the name of the book from the lists above to learn more about that said… book. Gosh, that was a mouthful. Yes, I repeat everything I write in my head to make sure it sounds right.Anyway… Let me know if you read or want to read any of the books I hauled today. I want to read your thought, feelings, and opinions in the comment section – even if you read this post 20 years in the future.Oh! And did I spark your curiosity about biology and people?
Hello-Hello! Today is another day to watch BONES. Although… Before that, let’s talk about BOOKS.Last month, I was negligent and I did not post the books picked by my book clubs. Now I am going to do two posts in one. Consider this as… I do not want to call it a recommendation… It’s more of an introduction to the books. As in, I present these books to you and then it is up to you!
BooksplosionThis book is about a sci-fi fan-girl, Elle Wittimer, who is excited because she finally has a chance to go to her TV show / movie (no specifics in the synopsis) Starfield ExcelsiCon (something similar to ComicCon, I assume) convention. Darien Freeman, a geek himself, is the actor who is going to play the main character in the Starfield reboot. Bad news… the fandom does not like him. Elle and Darien meet at the convention and… Well, the rest of the book happens. 😀 Geekerella – Goodreads
PerustopiaFor this one, think about the Kardashians’ TV show but with expensive car brand names. The name of the main character is Bentley. She wants a normal life but her family (most of it) does not and the potential cancellation of their show is not a good thing. Her sister plans a fake wedding to save the show; however, a very serious car accident makes things very serious. Also, the story is told in a “tongue-in-cheek voice that takes a swipe at all things Hollywood, Royce Rolls is a laugh-out-loud funny romp with an LA noir twist about what it means to grow up with the cameras rolling and what really happens behind the scenes.” Royce Rolls – Goodreads
BooksplosionAlice and Teddy are no strangers to misfortune, especially when it comes to people from their lives. Alice does not believe in luck but she believe in love and she has her eyes set on Teddy. On his birthday, Alice buys Teddy a lottery ticket and, surprisingly, it’s a winner one. At first the money seem like a blessing but then, little by little, they become a curse reaping Teddy and Alice apart. As they try to reconnect with each other, Alice rediscover herself in way she did not expect. Windfall – Goodreads
PerustopiaThis is the second book in the series so… SPOILERS Ahead. (I will try not to spoiler too much.)The God Apollo is turned into a human by Zeus as a punishment for the things which happed in the Heroes of Olympus series. His only solution to become god again is to find out what happened with the Oracles. Now he has to leave the safety of Camp Half-Blood and travel across North America for answers with “heroes who will be very familiar to fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series.” The Dark Prophecy – GoodreadsAnd if you want to know more about my book clubs’ creators, feel free to check them up on YouTube.Booksplosion:Christine from polandbananasBooks

Hello-Hello! I am here to write another random post because all my life (so far) I felt a lot of pressure from the phrase “blond/e with blue eyes” from people around me, mass media and, finally, books. When I was little, I always had a grudge against “blonds with blue eyes” even though they did not do anything to hurt me. I was just sick and tired about this over glorification of these recessive traits. “Blond/e with blue eyes” were represented as the holly grail of looks in the society I lived my first years of my life. In my child’s mind, it was not fair – pun intended – because the majority of people I saw, including myself, did not possess such looks… And on top of that, they were beautiful despite having dark hair (shades of black/brown) and dark eyes or green.I was even more puzzled when people will go to hell and back to dye their hair yellow – ups – blond.This so called grudge of mine – although, it was more of a frustration really – did not take long.“Why,” you ask.Because of (and Thank God for that):
All of these made me realize that it was not the blond girl’s or blue-eyed boy’s fault for being considered standards of beauty. They were victims – even though they got the better end of the stick, kidding – of pop culture just like myself. They were not to blame. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And pop culture is to blame. It pushes innocents like my child self into a negative zone of hatred and discrimination.Oh! I forgot to tell you. It hurt even more when people would bring religion into play and say that even angels were/are “blond with blue eyes.” If you live in a religious country/community you can understand how this affected a child. “Oh, look! Even the All Mighty prefers blonds with blue eyes! Not cool! Not cool!” I was feeling inferior for a moment thenI am glad I was able to overcome this society induced aversion against “blond/e with blue eyes.” People are more than just looks. From my own experiences, I learned to accept, like, and love the humans in my life regardless of looks.Even though I did not have the urge to make the face below and stick my tongue out anymore, I still have metaphorical scars in a good and bad ways.Because of this:I decided to never – as in longer than a 24 hour period – dye my hair unless I have grey/white hair and I want to have my natural hair color again. From time to time I still find myself thinking, “Why are people changing their hair color? What’s wrong with natural?” And weirdly, I get this immediate negative feeling while reading a book when is revealed that the main character is either blond/e or blond/e with blue eyes. And it gets even worse when the author keeps rubbing it in my face. It is an involuntary reaction which makes me roll my eyes and reimagine that character the WAY I want.The reverse happens when rarely – in my opinion, I did not read all the books in the universe – I found a book with a protagonist – especially female – who has dark eyes and brown hair. That explains why I loved Twilight so much!We need more representation in this world. Stereotypes have a bad influence on innocents’ minds especially during development. Saying that one thing is beautiful than another one… Not helping. I am sure that my “blond/e with blue eye” example is not the only one causing the similar problems.In case it was not clear, I have nothing against blond hair and blue eyes. I, myself – I feel the need to emphasize ME – though of a couple of blond/e with blue eyes people attractive. And if it happens to posses one or both of these traits my dear reader, do not feel guilty or insulted. That was not my intention. Now, I find it ridiculous to ever have a grudge against a few alleles. 😀Remember, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!
my mother and her side of the family. We all – most of us – have dark complexions (hair and eye and sometimes skin too) and did not glorified these traits;
my brain, which kind of blends in with my home education or brain development ignorance, who – who or which… Ok, grey area… no intentional pun intended pun… and now I am just playing with words… – discarded the looks and analyzed a person as a whole, body and personality;
a Romanian tradition, which consists of cutting sections of a toddler’s hair and keeping it for the rest of ones life, I discovered I was once too a blonde just like in those epic description in the books;
last but not least, my childhood friends and some family members who possessed both or just one of these two traits and were normal nice human beings.
Form hairless monkeys to humans! I am just joking. That is so wrong in so many ways. People do not come from monkeys. We never did and never will… Well… Unless science does some batsh*t crazy experiments… And that will also be wrong in so many ways. Please science don’t do that! Don’t you ever ever do that!Today, I feel lucky to be human because… I am human. Lately, I read and saw some interesting articles and videos on the internet about the humans throughout time. (Plus my last semester class about Evolution. And I am telling you, if you ever have a chance in taking a class about evolution, it’s worth it. It is crazy, confusing, full of science terms but it’s worth it. Do not worry, your religious believes are not going to be shattered because… relativity.) And, I want to say that we are brilliant and crazy because We invented writing, different alphabets, and lots of languages. I mean… It’s not like we are the only ones who can communicate but we are doing it in style. Our need to communicate with each other and store information led to so many wonderful things we have today: books, texting, computers, libraries, pens, pencils, ink, music, art etc. And let’s not forget – drum-roll please – Blogs.Get it! Cause I am writing a blog post on my blog about writing… Alright! I will stop now. Ok, I have to add that I should have put libraries before texting and computers but… Just go with it!We drew on caves and rocks. We wrote on stone, papyrus, animal skin and other things. And now, we settled for paper (plus ink and or electronic devices).I am not an expert and I might be wrong. This whole post might be full of wrong stuff. Who knows? Ha-ha-ha! Thus, I want you to stop for a second look of these pictures I took off of internet – including our most favorite website Wikipedia (List of writing systems) – and admire the human race, you included.Be proud!Be Human!Be a Homo sapiens!(I could not resist using the scientific term. Sue me. Please Don’t! >:D)(Image credits: Power of Writing article)We are destined for greatness and so much good. We are very adaptable and intelligent. Hello! Have you seen the 21st century technology? We can do this!Thank you, human race for making the existence of books, of any kind, and paper possible.Could you please stop letting gender, race, religion, war, corruption and violence get in your way?We managed to turn languages into “live organisms,” letting them change over time. Can we do that with the other things too?Let beautiful things be beautiful things! No matter what they are (art, music, the human body, religion or no religion, aliens, race, atoms, letters, mistakes, points, crazy inventions etc.), they make us beautiful. They make us HUMAN.Writing rocks!We use it to express ourselves.
We create stories, document memories, and plan our future with it.
Writing is a form of communication, a way to share things with the people.
Writing is an essential proof our existence throughout time. Like the Latin proverb says, “Verba volant, scripta manent.” (rough translation: Spoken words fly away, written words remain.)
I bet most of you take writing for grated. After you learn how to do it, it becomes natural, normal even. Until recently, I did not think of my ability to write words on a paper as being something cool. I knew that it can tell so much about you – by you I mean your personality… I do not know if you understand what I am trying to say. Right now, I am just amazed by how we were able to create languages with different alphabets and writing and pronunciation rules.
Am I wrong to assume that the early humans turned random vocal sounds into written alphabets?

Hello-Hello, Everybody! It is officially Spring and I am here to bring my Winter wrap-up.This may or may not come as a shock to you but – I should definitely know by now – I tend to deviate form my TBR’s for no reason. It is like I am doing it on purpose.What can I say? I am in a constant need to rebel against myself. (More information about that in my post A random post…) When it comes to reading, I try not to force myself to read – all the time hahaha! – books I do not have the desire to read at the moment.My reading tastes and habits usually match what I am in a mood for or not for at a giving time. As a side note, I am not sure my previous sentence makes sense at all but it made sense in my mind. In the future (consider it a very close future… like further down in my post), you will see that my TBR is just a guide line because I do not want to set boundaries when it comes to reading. Reading should be a fun activity so why force it. DO NOT quote me if you are in a situation when you MUST read a book. If it’s a must, it’s a must. 😀

What I did not read or finish to readIt has a slow start. Since it uses Romanian history, I feel a little picky about this book. It is kind of weird when you read a book and you know the end of Lada and Radu from the real history. I already have a mind set about those two: Love Lada, hate Radu! As simple as that. The author does a great job in creating complex personalities for out two protagonists. Also, I am obsessed with things being correct when it comes to Romanian terms and names – especially names – and how they are used so… Sometimes I cringe when things are incorrect. Translation is a tricky thing and the author is trying to not make things confusing for the readers since her major target audience is for clueless (about Romanian history) Americans. (No offense, that is the naked truth. I mean… What really do you -or the majority of you – know about Romania besides Transylvania, vampires, weird reputation in history, and present bad reputation in Europe created by a small group of people?) I am 22% done with this book. I am planning to finish it although I have to push myself a bit. Slow pace. Great build up and descriptions so far. Oh! And hate Ottomans if you have Romanian Blood! Hahaha!The series was enjoyable so far… The second book mad me push this book down my general TBR list because reading Gemina and Illuminae created an epic book craving which is not good for a normal less drenaline stimulating novel. Yes, I am planning to read it and finish the series.For this one, even though I received and advanced reader copy, I got spooked by the hype. Other books got in the way and… Yeah. I am going to wait a bit and then give it a try.This may come as a shocker since I read almost every single thing written by Stephenie Meyer – except this book and Life and Death; although I am planning to read that one cause… Twilight. I know you cannot force somebody to do what the public wants, however, I wanted her to finish The Host series. I was not in the mood for this book. There was lots of hype from my book entourage. I read 32 pages and I was not that hooked. School and other things got in the way… Thus, I decided to not read this book in the near future.I hope you enjoyed this picture-long post.Brush aside my saltiness!Create your own opinions on books!And you can check out the books’ description and Goodreads links in my Winter TBR Post.
Hello-Hello! How is life? I am quite well or at least this is the answer people want to receive and not the true one. Yes, pleasantries. Futile pleasantries.In real life, I am procrastinating because I want my brain to wander and do what it wants, hence this random post. I have read so many books lately. I have many reviews to come.But… I do not know. It is like my brain is rebelling against – Is it me? Or myself? Or I?… Ok, the same brain says –> me.It is like I have two different “I’s” (not eyes, and before you ask, yes I have two eyes) inside of me:I who is a stubborn and obnoxious child who taps the foot, crosses the arms over the chest and says,” I do not want to” like a command;AndI who is like the goddess Athena rational, calculated, and intelligent… Oh! And that I is also stubborn. Sometimes she scares me! Hahaha! Then, with a fierce look over the rim of her glasses, she says, “Be reasonable! Think!”Most of the time is good. But what happens when both rebel?Well, you get me not doing my book reviews.I mean… It’s not like I am giving myself homework, is it? Is it?Oh man! Really? How can you call that homework? That is your hobby!Brain whispering: Keep telling yourself that. But you are not fooling me.What are you doing here? Get out of this post!Brain: Aaa… Do you realize that we are one and the same? So, of course, I have to be in this post.Ok. Ok. Ok. So be it!Hmmm! “Why am I in a quarrel with myself?” It is March. Spring has begun only not where I live. Apparently, Spring has decided to elope with the Sun after they had some heated meetings in February. (22 degree C in the middle of February that is unacceptable during the winter season.) Now, winter had seen the opportunity and it is snowing cats and dogs with a bucket. Thus, I was left to miss Spring and substitute her with Romance novels set in the 1800’s.Yes, I am a sucker for Romance and I am not ashamed of it. I quite enjoy reading about women and men who rebel against the system and society views.Brain: Now you see! Spring. Rebel. Get it?Hypothetical face palm. Nooo! It is not like we are one and the same.Brain: Are you sarcastic while using your own words against yourself? That’s harsh, girl!Bye, Brain! I can’t deal with you!Brain: Eyes roll then mimicking mockeryYeah… I want my Spring and flowers! I miss Romanian Springs. They were so festive with flowers and ancient traditions. Maybe the Sun decided to run away with the Spring because it might have heard US politicians talking about making it to pay taxes… cause skin cancer. It is not like we are alive thanks to the Sun. I need my vitamin D.Conclusion: The only thing I want to do is to read romance novels while I desperately yearn for Spring to come back into my life.I mean, Spring is befitting for Romance novels.Bain: Just sayin’!Agree! High five!Original expression:Raining cats and dogs (EN).Plouă cu găleata (RO). –> “Raining with the bucket”? (EN translate)I hoped you enjoyed my thought process and imagine being me everyday!Wink-winkLet’s hope you understood something from this post.It made sense in my head.Laughing out loud! –> LOLBrain: But The Diabolic was not quite a romance novel
